Welcome to Inspiring Haiti!

I’m Kate Michel — wife, mum, missionary, and creative. Haiti has been part of my life for more than twenty years through my marriage to Storly, raising our children there, building our home, and serving in full-time ministry with 4VEH, The Evangelistic Voice of Haiti.

Now based in Columbus, Indiana, I love sharing the beauty of Haiti and her people at local events like Ethnic Expo and area craft fairs. If I could, I’d take you straight to Haiti’s craft markets to meet the artisans themselves — talented, resilient men and women whose work puts food on their tables and dignity in their hands. The organizations I partner with in Haiti provide meaningful jobs, grow skills, and expand markets for their handcrafted products. Every purchase truly helps a parent provide for their family.

My own creative journey began in 2006, when I was a stay-at-home mum in Cap-Haïtien finding peace and inspiration in the red hibiscus blooming in our garden. That season sparked my Haiti-inspired photo art and greeting cards — and eventually, this passion for connecting you with beautifully made pieces from Haitian artisans.
